We have been in transition from one city to another in the past few months; as such, I haven't been able to work on any new music (big cry) -- but, as most of us are, we have several things sitting on disks, so i cobbled some together and threw it up on soundcloud. check it :)

During the lockdowns of 2020-2021, I got my DJ mojo back. I recorded a series of (bi)-weekly(ish) live instrumental mix tapes featuring my favorite, vibiest lo fi, boom bap, and instrumental hip hop sounds (including a few of my own tracks thrown in for good measure). This number 10 had some of my favorite moments. Around the 32 minute mark, flow state is achieved.

I had a lot of fun making this one.

Last year, while laid up in the hospital I made, and shared some beats on my IG. Sareem Poems hit me up asking if I wanted to work on a project with him, and it was a no-brainer for me.

The production on the record is, save for the main "Skyline" sample, original work, and Sareem kept pushing me to get some live instrumentation on it...bro is as much of a producer as a rapper, haha. Was able to get some keys, and some bass work here and there from Summer Starved, some guitar from Jimmy John Morris, with whose work really the tracks they're on wouldn't be as fly....and I even a lil cameo from my son on the bass! Not to mention my best best nuggets (my two youngest daughters) to do their lil thing on a chorus!

I got to work with a true pro, and someone who has consistently released music since his days in LA Symphony, and whose voice continually shows up seemingly everywhere good beats are found.

Imperial Beats gave it that *polish* on the mix and master -- I hadn't heard my beats sound so crispy.

Then you get Dustin on the artwork (who, last i saw, did. Tall Black Guy and Ozay Moore's latest joint), release it on Illect Recordings, and you got something that i am absolutely chuffed to release to this world.
